Music and Band

Music is a vital part of human existence, culture and religion. Music education is provided to students with diverse abilities in an environment which encourage the desire to develop one’s personal best. The curriculum includes singing, performing with musical instruments, reading music, creating and evaluating musical performances, and understanding music in relation to history and culture.

The Notre Dame Academy music program has two components: Vocal and Band. All students Kindergarten thru eighth grade receive instruction in vocal music, music history and music theory. Students meet twice per week with a music specialist.

Band is available to students in fifth through eighth grade; Jazz Band is for students in sixth thru eighth grade.

Highlights of the Notre Dame Academy music program include the annual Christmas and Spring concerts when we enjoy the fruits of our young musicians’ hard work.
